New hobby!

I've found a new distraction in my life. I have spend a lot of time making hair bows. Can u guess what all the girls in my family are getting for Christmas!! Here are some that I've made to sell at either the craftshow I'm doing this weekend or at my lil sis' hair salon. I've got several holiday bows and then regular bows. It's been fun. I never knew I had so much ribbon. And know Izzy loves to have her hair done!!! Finally after 4 years I can put her hair in clips or even ponies and she's not screaming and ripping them out!! Yippee! I'll start posting my Christmas projects soon!!! Life has been crazy!!

more coaster boxes

My mummy box is super cute in person. It just didn't photograph very well. I tore jsut plain typing paper and then tipped the edges in brown chalk ink (love my cat eyes!!) then I randomly glued them around the box. These coasters were not tied together. Just used some really strong glue and the glued 'bandages' to hold it together.

THis one is my fav. the scarecrow hat is actually a textured brown then i added dimension (not that u can see in the pic) using my cat eye chalk

This is the best i could come up with for a snowman box. I cut the ends off two round coaters then trimmed two square coasters to make a box. It's small but it is still a cute teacher gift.

Coaster Boxes

Here's my version of the coaster boxes

This witch has curly hair. I just cut strips of paper and then curled them around a pen. Pretty cute huh??

The turkey turned out pretty cute. I tried to give it deminsion by using my brown chalk ink around the edges.

Altered Bubbles

Here are some cheapo bubbles from the dollar store. Ripped the label off and stuck a Halloween themed label on them. I stamped the pumpkin face on them and then embossed with orange embossing powder. I think these could have looked much cuter but i was in a hurry and it was 1:30 in the morning!!

Scrapbooking Convention Classes/Products

Look at all the fun goodies I bought!! I'm so motivated to finish my scrapbooks (haven't scrapped in a LONG time!!)

Here's more goodies!

Here's a pic of my Christmas Acrylic album. I have never worked with acrylic before it makes for a really fun see thru scrapbook. So here it is disassembled. I just need to finish up with embellishments and pictures. Pretty sure this one will be used as a Christmas gift for Gma!

This is the Memories Accordian Album. It is a chipboard album that is held in the handy dandy chipboard cover. This class was given by Rusty Pickle (great products) they gave away so much extra supplies!!

Here's the album all stretched out--Just need to embellish and add photos to both sides. Not sure what theme I'm going to use this album for--but I love the colors.

Scrapbooking Convention

Mom, Sandi, and I left on this Thursday to go to a Convention in Kansas City. We had a GREAT TIME!! I recommend to everyone try to make it to one of these events. We went to the Creating Keepsakes Convention. I'm pretty sure it will be an annual event for us. I shopped the vendors most of Friday and took one class then Saturday I took classes all day! I came home with 5 mini albums that all I have to do it put pictures in!! Mom embrodered these shirts for us. WE received compliments all day!! I of course was a complete idiot and got ink on mine so later in the day people were making fun of me (the shirts said I'm feeling Scrappy! people kept commenting you look like you're feeling inky!--lame I know!!)

Sandi was soooo excited she was able to take a class given by Allison. She got to talk one on one with her and took a pic with her (check out sandi's blog to see it)

Okay, we had to take a pic of this car. Is that not the cutest thing!! We all make fun of mom and her tiny car! Well, its funny to us anyway!!

Here are some sample class projects. There were tons of classes to choose from Mom absolutely loved the Quick Quotes classes so here's their sample board.

Sandi and I took a class together (believe it or not we were not the rowdy ones!!) So I was taking some random pics of her.

Random Stamping!

Here is a coaster box. I'm in the process of making serveral more to give as Halloween gifts. They are just chipboard coasters covered in paper and the face is made of punched paper. Virtually no stamping involved--super simple, super quick!

This is a SU rubon used on a glass candle holder. I made several of these for gifts at Jen's baby shower.

The shower we threw for Jen and her baby girl was jungle themed so I made this adorable nugget holders (found the idea on SCS) I pretty much just winged it and didn't have a pattern. I loved the elephant!! I tried to make giraffes but the looked like crap--so needless to say I didn't use them!!

These are the monkeys. They hold little Hereshy nugget candy bars. I scattered them along the tables as favors/decoration. Everyone loved them!

Here are the cupcake picks in use!! I thought they were a great accent to the cake!!

Jungle Fever Baby!

I'm helping my sister throw a baby shower. The mommy-to-be is doing the nursery in a baby jungle theme (super cute!!) So we are trying to incorporate that in the shower. These are the cupcake toppers I made for the dessert table. I think they turned out super cute! I used a scallop punch for the base and then used my creative memories circle punch to a stamped image. I;ll post more details tomorrow!

Baby Shower

I helping host a baby shower for a friend and these are the centerpieces. We wanted to go simple so these are the bowls wrapped with curling ribbon with a tag attached. Inside to bowles we are putting glass marbles and a candle.

These are the tags that are being used for each centerpiece.

Picture Clip

This is just an altered jumbo binder clip. I used purple paper to cover the metal clip the I wrapped ribbon on each side. Next I stamped the image and punched it out using my scallop punch. The stamp set had a snowflake in the middle so I just didn't ink it and added the yellow dot to look like sun. My mom gave me this idea when she used it on her flip flop photo album. The words say Celebrate the Season and I think it's fitting for a cute summer pic! The picture is of me, my sisters, and my mom swimming at moms.

Super Cute Baby Gift

This is a super cute little gift bag I made for the soon to be newest addition to our extended family! My sister is due in two weeks and I'm acutally planning ahead!! The nursery is decorated in pink and brown and has lots of polka-dots. So I decided to make a bag that would match!! I used pink CS and then used my fiskars embossing plate to give the background nice texture. Next I took a brown band of paper and stamped the dots with versamark and then heat and stick powder then I adhered the pink flocking. (that's the fun fuzzy stuff) I think next time I use flocking I'll just use a glue pen to make sure the stuff sticks were I want it!! So I glued that to the bag and decided to add the teddy bear I colored it in using a brown crayola and then blending the color around using my blender pen dipped in goo gone (LOVIN' that technique!). I decided to add the little tag It's a girl using my new SU punch. Lastly, since I didn't have any brown tissue paper. I just stamped the brown dots onto white tissue paper. I think it all ties together nicely. Obviously the picture does not do it justice!!

Post-It Note Holder

This is such a quick and easy project!! I just covered a chipboard coaster (you could even use the free coasters from restraunts) with some cute paper. Then I took a post-it note pad and clipped it to the top using a medium sized binder clip. Next I stamped the quote and glued it on. I even make matching RSVP pens (from Wally World) and give them away as quick gifts!

Tommy's Bday card

Made my nephew's bday card today (only a couple weeks late!!) I tried to do a simple little boy card. I stamped the worm first in green then stamped over the image in versamark then put heat and stick powder on it. Heated it with the embossing gun (from underneath to prevent flyaway) and then covered it with green flocking I love creating kids cards that have fun texture. So Tommy has a fuzzy green googly eyed bug to touch on this one!! I also embossed the wording wiht green embossing powder. The worms were stamped with green galore all over the background cardstock! Hope he likes it!! (the ribbon is the $1 ribbon at Michaels --gotta love that store!!)

Late Night Decorating

Okay so it's almost 1am on Friday night I spent most of the evening cleaning and went out to pick some fresh flowers for my table. After putting my dd to bed and finishing odds and ends I decided the vase needed to be a little more cheerful. Since I have extra Frap bottles I thought that would be the perfect vase to spiffy up! So here's what I came up with! I just covered the bottle with random paper and used the Doodle This SU stamp. I stamped the image twice and then colored them in using crayons and goo gone (hoping to explain this tech in more detail tomorrow) Then cut them out stuck em together and added the jewel in the center for fun. I also pinched the petals to give it more dimension.

Contraban!!!

Okay so SU doesn't sell these nifty little disney stamps so I had to buy this contraban at Michaels (please forgive me SU!) Anyway, These are cute little CD tins that I've altered into tic-tac-toe sets for gifts. I covered the tin and jazzed it up. I then stamped the princess images onto white CS and punched them out then useing Crystal Effects secured them to the clear glass stones. After they were dried I added a little strip of magnet so they stay in place. I didn't show the game board but they are cut to size and laminated. (forgot to say all images were colored using SU watercolor pencils and blender pens.) Love 'em don't u??

Frugal Creator!

I am well known for being tight with my budget so I try to cut corners whenever possible. That's why I love looking for bargain--well you can't get much cheaper than free!! I love to nab some paint samples everytime I run into a home improvement store or whereever paint is sold. This particular time I chose to use the paint samples to make some card candy! I used my scallop punch (sold by Stampin' Up!) and 2 differnt sized circle punches to create these fun images. (honestly, I probably won't use them on cards but on scrapbook pages) I love the paint samples b/c all the color coordinating is done for you!! So the next time you see some grab 'em and experiment!! Enjoy!
After gluing them together I did add some bling to each. I used my SU two-way glue pen to add dots and then added irridecent ice to each. Unfortunately they do not show up to well--but i'm sure you get the idea!! TFL!

My Stamping Space

Thought I'd show some pics of my 1/2 finished room. Eventually it will all be painted and tiles laid right now we make do with what my husband has completed (it's a 'winter project' so I just have to wait 'til the snows a blowin')

Here's a shelf that houses all my stamps (when everything is actually put away the cubbies are completely full) The small blue boxes are a garage sale find--completely full of rick-rack, lace, seam tape and random ribbon--I was SOOOO excited I scored such a sweet find!

This is my shelf of goodies waiting to be used or altered. There's everything there from jars, glass stones, paint cans, ornaments--u name it it's probably there!

This is the paper corner at least for right now. The drawers hold categorized full sheets of CS, vellum, and DSP the other shelves just hold random info. The top shelves are full of just scraps and unopened packs of CS (card stock)

This last photo is the embossing/embellishment station! (my clubbers make fun of me for that title) But this seriously works for me all the embossing powders and flocking are right there in the top tier then the heat gun and trays are on the second tier. THe basket holds my punches (hoping to hang a shelf my dad made for my punches soon). The second shelf hold all sorts of embellishments like buttons, brads, chipboard, foam pieces--just random odds and ends. I'm such a packrat!!

I'll try to get more pics of my room soon--needs to be cleaned otherwise I'll be too embarrassed to show it!!
